B7 Sub District: Northwest Girls Win - Boys Season Comes To An End

(Grand Island, NE) - The Northwest girl's soccer team is one win away from the state soccer tournament in Omaha. The Vikings got a 3-0 win over the York Dukes on Tuesday night at Viking Field to get the automatic birth into the district final round to be played on Saturday. The matchup with the Dukes in the B7 sub-district final was the thrid time the two teams matchup this season. Northwest defeated York on March 28th 3-1 and downed the Dukes 6-0 on April 13th in the Central Conference Tournament. The three Northwest goals would come from Leah Carlson, Evie Keller, and Evelyn Poland. 

The Vikings (13-3) have won seven matches in a row and now await their opponent for the district final match as the pairings have not been officially released yet from the NSAA. Northwest enters Wednesday morning 4th in the wildcard points. Northwest will get a home match to try and punch their ticket to state as the top eight spots host. 

(Hastings, NE) - The Northwest boys soccer team would see their season come to an end on Tuesday night at the B7 Sub District championship match falling to Hastings 4-0 at Hastings College. The Tigers would strike early in the match in fact two goals came from Hastings in the first 20 minutes of play. Northwest who won on Monday night in the semi-final match over Kearney Catholic 1-0 in a shootout, see's their season end with a record of 8-8. The Tigers advance to a district final with a record of 10-5.
