CENTRAL DISTRICT HEALTH DEPARTMENT RECEIVES FINANCIAL GIFT FROM JBS
Central District Health Department (CDHD) wishes to thank JBS for their generous gift of $10,000.00 These funds will be used in the development of an educational campaign focusing on the safety and effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Director Teresa Anderson explains, “Some people are confused about the COVID-19 vaccines, and rightfully so. There is a lot of information out there, some of it is truthful and some of it is not. People need to hear the facts and then make their own decisions. Over the years, several vaccines have been developed, vaccines we never had before, but vaccines that have been proven to work in preventing diseases. Our goal with COVID-19 vaccine is to provide the public with the best scientific information about benefits and risks, and then encourage discussion with healthcare professionals when making the decision on whether or not to get vaccinated. These funds will help us share the science-based facts. We know that no vaccine is risk free the same way that no medical intervention is risk free. We want people to be clear on how the vaccine was produced, the potential side effects and the risk and benefit of being vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as vaccine becomes available to them.”
CDHD will work with community partners to develop and carry out the campaign. The funds will go toward the cost of materials. Anderson adds, “We believe the campaign will be significantly enhanced through this generous gift.”
