Early Sunday Morning Shooting in GI

(Grand Island, NE) - Grand Island Police Officers responded to 1004 S Greenwich St on Sunday, March 19th at 1:35 am in reference to gunshots. A 22-year-old male was shot multiple times, requiring surgery. Juan Alvarez Jr. was identified as the person who fired several shots striking the victim and two uninvolved vehicles down the street. Jose Contreras Estrada drove Juan to and from the scene. After leaving, Contreras Estrada drove Alvarez Jr to another location where Alvarez Jr. hid the gun. 

Juan Alvarez Jr arrested for 1st Degree Assault, Use of a Firearm to Commit a Felony, and Criminal Mischief (2 counts)

Jose Contreras Estrada was arrested for Accessory to a Felony (1st Degree Assault).
