Friday Morning Grand Island Pursuit Leads To Arrest
(Grand Island, NE) - GIPD officers observed a white Toyota eastbound on 2nd St E on Friday, November 3rd at 1:30 am. The vehicle would quickly turn southbound on Plum, westbound on Division, and then northbound on Vine. The vehicle would then turn eastbound on 1st St E without stopping for the posted stop sign. A traffic stop was conducted as it pulled into 507 1st St E. The driver of the vehicle would run from the vehicle. A chase was conducted and the male would not be located.
Footage showed the male ran back to the vehicle, backed through, and drove through the yard of 507 1st St E, narrowly missing a patrol unit and fleeing the scene. The male was recognized to be Abraham Gomez Zetino. A record check of Abraham showed his license status as revoked with three prior convictions and an active and confirmed Hall County Warrant.
Abraham was observed in the area a short while later on foot. Officers attempted to contact him and he ran again. He was given loud verbal commands to stop and he would continue to run. Abraham would be located at his residence. He was placed under arrest for Flight to Avoid Arrest (Felony), Driving During Revocation w/ 4 Priors, Obstruction, Obstruction, and an active Hall County Warrant.
