Kearney Runza Downs GI Home Federal

(Kearney, NE) - Kearney Runza used a three-run 2nd and four-run 6th to defeat Grand Island Home Federal 9-3 on Wednesday night at Memorial Field. Kearney would have nine hits in the game with no errors. Grand Island would end the game with five hits and three errors. GI would get 4 and 2/3 innings from Riley Plummer on 106 pitches. He would exit the game as Grand Island trailed 5-3.  Sam Dinkelman would lead the way for Home Federal with 2 hits and an RBI. Barrientos, Albers, and Arends would each chip in a hit. Both teams are now 1-1 on the season. Grand Island and Kearney will be both playing in the Grand Island/Hastings Invite over Memorial Day Weekend. Grand Island will play Norris Friday, McCook Saturday, and Lincoln Southeast on Sunday.
