Northwest Has No Plans To Adopt Health Education Standards If Recommended From NDE
Governor Pete Ricketts was in Grand Island today for a town on the proposed health education standards from the Department of Education.
The Health Education standards most of the nearly 400 people in attandance were concerned with involved what the Nebraska Department of Education is considering for sex ed.
Topics of gender indentity, puberty and even anal and oral sex all could be taught before the age of 12, if these standards are recommended and adopted by our local school boards.
At least one school district as it stands will not be adopting the standards, if recommended.
Dr. Jeff Edwards at North West public schools spoke with KRGI's Tyson Havranek following the town hall.
