Not many print publications accomplish this milestone. In June 2026, Nebraskaland Magazine, published by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, will celebrate 100 years since its first issue.
This award-winning magazine, published 10 times per year, is filled with outstanding Nebraska photography and informative articles about outdoor recreation and Nebraska history, parklands, people and wildlife.

See the highlights of Nebraskaland Magazine in person. From June 20 to Oct. 18, 2026, The Durham Museum in Omaha will host a special exhibit, “Nebraskaland: Celebrating 100 Years Outdoors.”
It offers behind-the-scenes glimpses and interactive activities that bring the world of Nebraskaland to life. One of Nebraskaland’s most-beloved sections is Portraits from the Past, showcasing reader-submitted photos of days outdoors in decades past. All photos – showing friends and family hunting, fishing, boating, camping or exploring state park areas – were taken before 2000.
