1868 Foundation Announces 250 for 250 Installment

1868 Foundation

As the United States approaches its historic 250th anniversary, the Nebraska State Fair 1868 Foundation is proud to launch a landmark campaign: 250 for 250. This special initiative is paired with a permanent installation on the fairgrounds and invites community leaders to celebrate America’s semiquincentennial while investing in your State Fair.

Rooted in the values that define both Nebraska and the nation: family, hard work, agriculture, and pride, the Nebraska State Fair has long stood as a symbol of American heritage. The “250 for 250” campaign aims to secure at least 25 leadership donors willing to commit $10,000 each to reach a goal of $250,000. The Foundation will be unveiling a new permanent bronze installation on the fairgrounds at the 2026 Nebraska State Fair in tandem with this initiative to commemorate this generational milestone.

Funds raised through the campaign will directly support:
-Youth agriculture programs
-Sustainability upgrades
-Capital improvements
-Patriotic programming

All leadership donors will receive permanent recognition as part of the America 250 installation. This tribute will honor their names as a lasting tribute to their generosity and commitment, ensuring their legacy is celebrated for years to come.

“This initiative is about more than commemorating a historic milestone. It is about coming together to invest in Nebraska’s future and protect the traditions,” said Lindsey Koepke, Executive Director of the Nebraska State Fair 1868 Foundation. “The State Fair holds a special place in the hearts of so many, and this is an opportunity to be part of something meaningful that will carry forward for years to come.”

Terry Galloway, Chairman of the Board of the Nebraska State Fair 1868 Foundation, underscored the long-term value of the campaign. “This effort allows us to think beyond today and invest in what the Nebraska State Fair can become,” he said. “It gives us the ability to enhance the overall experience for families, and ensure the Fairgrounds continue to reflect the pride and spirit of our state.”

This campaign will help position the Nebraska State Fair for continued growth and relevance, supporting enhancements that strengthen its role as a gathering place for education, tradition, and statewide pride.

Now is the time to lead, to give, and to be remembered.
