2026 Husker Football Game Day Information
Nebraska will kick off its 2026 home season at Memorial Stadium this Saturday when the Husker host Ohio. Kickoff is at 11 a.m. CT.
In advance of the season, the University of Nebraska Athletic Department is highlighting changes fans will see at Memorial Stadium this fall, as well as reinforcing stadium policies implemented in recent years.
- There will be noticeable changes to city streets and construction leading into and around Memorial Stadium which will impact overall traffic flow. The City of Lincoln plans to provide an update on Tuesday regarding city traffic flow, and construction near Memorial Stadium that will impact fans as they arrive and depart the downtown Lincoln area.
- Nebraska Athletics and the City of Lincoln will be utilizing Waze as an application to reflect ongoing traffic changes and updates. Fans should consider downloading the Waze App to better plan their trip to and from Memorial Stadium.
- The Big Red Rebuild construction project at Memorial Stadium will fully commence following the 2026 football season. Disruption for fans in the 2026 season will be minimal, however, construction areas may affect some walking paths, parking and gate entries.
Gates 1, 6 and 8 will be closed throughout the 2026 season.
Gates 18, 19 and 21 will be closed after kickoff.
Gates 17 and 22 are not open to the public.
Gate 11 will be utilized only for an ADA and service entrance in 2026.
- The 2026 season marks the second year that Memorial Stadium will have a No Re-Entry policy for all fans, and also the second year of alcohol sales in the venue. Also in its second season is the Cornhusker Kickoff presented by Bud Light, a pre-game Fan Fest located in the Hawks Championship Center, beginning four hours prior to kickoff.
No Re-Entry
Memorial Stadium does not allow Re-Entry during football games. If a patron leaves the venue after initial entry, their game ticket becomes invalid. Patrons are reminded that before leaving your tailgate or initiating your approach to gate entry ensure you have everything you need for the duration of the game.
Alcohol Service
Husker fans can purchase alcohol at Memorial Stadium and all Nebraska athletic venues. A valid ID will be required for every purchase of alcohol regardless of age and the service limit is two alcoholic beverages per person per transaction. Trained staff will be monitoring points of sale. Alcohol service will be discontinued at the end of the third quarter or at the discretion of the management.
Aramark S+E, Nebraska Athletics and the University of Nebraska Campus Recreation will continue to operate a designated driver program at Memorial Stadium Guest Service locations on the east, west and south concourses. A coupon will be given for a free small soft drink or water for adults who sign a pledge to be a designated driver.

Cornhusker Kickoff Presented by Bud Light
Husker fans will again have a pre-game destination for home games at Memorial Stadium. The Cornhusker Kickoff presented by Bud Light will take place inside of the Hawks Championship Center, just outside of the Memorial Stadium gates. Fans do not need a game ticket to attend the Cornhusker Kickoff. There will be a capacity limit for the event. If that capacity limit is reached some fans may have to wait to enter until others exit the venue space.
Free for Husker fans, the area features live entertainment, kids’ activities, food and beverage, Husker merchandise and appearances and autographs from current and former student-athletes and coaches.
Gate Screening/Clear Bag Policy
Nebraska Athletics utilizes walk-through gate screening technology at Memorial Stadium gates. The frictionless technology provides a more efficient screening process and enhances safety for Husker fans. Nebraska continues its clear bag policy for all ticketed Nebraska events. Please see huskers.com/bagpolicy for more information.
Backrest Policy/Rental
Personal backrests (any shape or size) are not allowed in Memorial Stadium. Backrests are available for rent on a single-game basis at locations inside the stadium concourse.
