No. 1 Huskers Come From Behind to Down Coyotes

The No. 1 Nebraska softball team was down one run going into the fifth, but scored four unanswered runs and defeated the South Dakota Coyotes, 4-1, on Friday evening at the Lincoln Regional of the 2026 NCAA Softball Tournament. 


With the win, the Huskers improved to 47-6, while USD fell to 20-35-1.


Hannah Camenzind contributed two hits for the Husker offense, including the go-ahead RBI double, while Kacie Hoffmann logged two RBI and Hannah Coor added one. Jordy Frahm knocked a double for the Nebraska bats. 


Alexis Jensen (23-2) grabbed the win in the circle after tossing five innings with only two hits and one run. Frahm tossed a hitless final two innings to grab her 11th save of the season.


The Coyotes knocked a home run in the fourth to take a 1-0 lead. 


In the bottom of the fifth, the Big Red took the lead when Frahm doubled and scored on a Coor triple and Coor crossed the plate on a H. Camenzind double.


NU added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth, as Farrell singled and Bland was hit by a pitch, before Hoffmann doubled to score Bland and pinch runner Kennadi Williiams and make the score 4-1.
