Today, Independent U.S. Senate Candidate Dan Osborn unveiled the outline of a new six-point policy agenda reflecting the priorities he would take with him to Washington, D.C. as a U.S. Senator.
Osborn released the following statement:
“Our core message is that working people deserve a seat at the table in the U.S. Senate,” said Osborn. “We created the Nebraska Fairness Plan to reflect the priorities I would carry to Washington on behalf of hard-working Nebraskans. I am excited to share these ideas with Nebraskans and hear from them as we continue to hold events all across the Cornhusker State.”
The six pillars of Osborn’s Nebraska Fairness Plan include:
-Drain the Swamp
-Protecting Your Paycheck, Social Security, and Healthcare
-Cut Washington Waste and Balance the Budget
-Good Job and Affordable Housing
-Protecting Family Farms, Ranchers, and Small Businesses
-Defend Our Freedoms and the Constitution
Over the coming weeks, Osborn will unveil the details of each pillar of the agenda, starting today with his anti-corruption plan: “Drain the Swamp.”
Osborn’s plan to “Drain The Swamp” outlines his support for policies that would restrict the ability of corporations and the ultra-wealthy to influence our political system, reduce pathways for elected officials to profit from their time in office, and restore trust in government among voters.
The tenets of Osborn’s anti-corruption agenda include:
-Overturn Citizens United
-Ban congressional stock trading
-Expose dark money donors
-No corporate PAC money
-Close the revolving door
-Real term limits
-Create independent redistricting commissions
-Enforce right to repair on military contractors
-Enact age limits
