Atkins Signs With Chadron State Football

(Grand Island, NE) - Northwest senior Hayden Atkins signed with Chadron State football on Monday afternoon. Atkins is the second Viking in less than a week to join the Eagles as fellow senior Cam Walker signed last week.

Atkins will be attending Chadron State as a RHOP Scholarship recipient. The Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP) is a cooperative agreement between Chadron State College and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The purpose of the program is to recruit and educate high school students from rural Nebraska who will return to practice in rural areas of the state. 

This past season for the Northwest Vikings Atkins tallied 79 tackles, third on the team. He also had 1 sack, 6 tackles for loss, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble in 10 games played.
