Aurora BBB Falls to York in B-7 Semis
In a game that featured three lead changes in the final 20 seconds, York stunned Aurora 48-47 in the B-7 District semifinals at the Aurora Middle School. The Huskies took their first lead late in the first half, and led by as many as six in the second half.
Freshmen Garrett Haggadone hit a three-pointer with 17 seconds remaining to give York its first advantage of the second half. Aurora responded with a layup from Cannon Allen to take the lead 47-46 with seven seconds to go.
After a York timeout, Cayce Hager drove the length of the floor and dished to Dax Peterson who hit the game winner as time ran out. Allen led the Huskies with 17. Peterson put in 16 for the Dukes.
Aurora holds slim wildcard hopes, but it was likely the last game for Allen, Brooks Handrup, and Ryan Staehr.
