Aurora schools placed on lockdown after threat
AURORA - At approximately 10:15 a.m. Monday, The Aurora Police Department dispatch received a report of an active threat at the Aurora High School. The school administration was immediately notified by law enforcement about the threat and went directly into lockdown. A short time later, out of precaution, the Aurora Middle School was also placed into lockdown.
Upon Law Enforcement’s arrival, both schools were secured and searched with the assistance of school administrative staff. There was no threat identified or located in either school. Law enforcement cleared the scene at approximately 1:00 p.m.
The Aurora Police Department was assisted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and the Nebraska State Patrol.
