Aurora VB Overcome Bison in Five

Aurora and Central City battled through a five-set match with the Huskies prevailing 3-2. The opening set saw eight failed set points before Central City survived 32-30.  Aurora scored the final seventh points of the second after trailing 19-18. The Bison dominated the third. Aurora had to overcome a five point deficit to capture the fourth. The Huskies never trailed in the fifth.

Kaitlyn Staehr had 23 kills and five ace serves to pace Aurora. Elizabeth Luebbe and Grace Wieseler also hit double digits in kills. Sydni Homolka had 26 kills for Central City.

Aurora hosts an invitational on Saturday beginning at 9am. The Huskies meet Waverly and Crete in pool play. Kearney Catholic, Columbus Lakeview, and Ashland-Greenwood will be in the other pool. Each team plays two pool-play matches plus a placement match.
