Aurora VB Survives York in Five

For the second year in a row, the Aurora Volleyball team won a five set match against York. The Huskies battled from five down in the first to win 25-19, and won the second 25-20. The Dukes dominated the third, leading 24-12 before prevailing 25-17. 

It appeared Aurora would take the contest in four. Down 22-20, the Huskies took a 24-23 lead. The Dukes survived that match point and four more before winning 30-28.

In the fifth, York trailed 6-4 before going on a 7-2 run to lead 11-8. However, Aurora scored seven of the final eight for a 15-12 win. 

Kaitlyn Staehr led the Huskies with 18 kills, 14 service points and three aces. Elizabeth Luebbe had 17 kills. Evelyn Kraus served 14 points including three aces.

Aurora takes part in the Beatrice Tourney on Saturday, playing Northwest, Duchesne, Superior, and Beatrice in the round robin event.
