Benefit Coming Next Month for GIGirl

A fundraiser  is coming next month for a Grand Island girl. Here's a personal note from her mother.

'My name is Megan Stuchlik, and I’m reaching out to share the story of my 7-year-old daughter, Remie Bragg, who is battling a rare and complex medical condition. We are hosting a local benefit and T-shirt fundraiser in Grand Island, and I would be so grateful if your station would consider helping us spread the word.

Remie was born missing her left arm and has a single, misshaped kidney. She also carries a TBX5 gene mutation, possibly the first of its kind ever documented. She faces daily challenges with scoliosis, gastrointestinal dysmotility, autonomic dysfunction (she cannot sweat), and more. She underwent spinal surgery at just 16 months old and has seen over 100 specialists across the country.

We’ve now been referred to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for further testing and evaluations in six different specialty departments—including autonomic testing and scoliosis surgery evaluation (VBT), neither of which are available in Nebraska.

To support the medical and travel expenses, we are organizing:

Remie’s Pancake Feed Benefit & Silent Auction
Date: Sunday, May 18
Time: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: Abundant Life Church, Grand Island, NE

We are also running a “Remie Strong” T-shirt fundraiser, with the goal of selling 1,000 shirts Remie’s favorite number!

If your station would be willing to mention the benefit on air, share it online, or post the flyer on your community calendar, we would be incredibly thankful. We would also welcome the opportunity for a short interview or on-air announcement if possible.

I’d be happy to provide more details, flyers, and audio-friendly summaries upon request. You can reach me directly at [email protected].

Thank you for supporting local families like ours and helping lift up one incredibly brave little girl.

With gratitude,
Megan Stuchlik
