Lincoln – A visit by the defending national champion Michigan and 10 matchups against NCAA Tournament teams highlights Nebraska’s 2026-27 Big Ten Conference men’s basketball opponents released Tuesday afternoon.

With 18 teams, the Big Ten schedule features three double-play opponents and one game apiece against the remaining 14 conference schools to make up the 20 Big Ten contests.  For the upcoming season, two of the Huskers’ three double-play opponents reached the NCAA Sweet 16 with Iowa and Michigan State joining Penn State as NU’s double-play foes.

The 10-game home slate is highlighted by a matchup with the Wolverines in Lincoln. The Wolverines are the first defending national champion to visit PBA since it opened in 2013-14 and the matchup will mark the first time NU has hosted a reigning national champion since Kansas in 2009. Michigan is one of seven home conference matchups against postseason opponents this season, as the Huskers will host NCAA Tournament qualifiers Iowa, Michigan State, UCLA and Ohio State, as well as 2026 College Basketball Crown participants Rutgers and Minnesota. The other two teams on the home schedule – Indiana and USC – are both listed in way-too-early top 25 polls.

Nebraska’s 10-game road slate is highlighted by a matchup with Final Four participant Illinois, as the teams split two meetings last year. NU will also make trips to four other teams which made the NCAA Tournament, Purdue, Iowa, Michigan State and Wisconsin. NU will make the Pacific Northwest trip to Oregon and Washington and venture east for matchups with Maryland and Penn State.
