BigIron Events Center & VenuWorks Announce Spencer Schubert as Director of Sales & Marketing
Grand Island, Neb. – VenuWorks and the BigIron Events Center are pleased to announce the hiring of Spencer Schubert as the facility’s new Director of Sales & Marketing.
In his new role, Schubert will lead sales, marketing, communications, community engagement, and promotional efforts for the BigIron Events Center, working to strengthen the venue's presence throughout central Nebraska while attracting new events, partnerships and opportunities to the region.
Schubert brings more than 20 years of experience in communications, media relations, marketing, and public engagement. Most recently, he served as Communications Manager for the City of Grand Island, where he oversaw citywide communications initiatives, media relations, digital platforms, social media, public information efforts, and strategic communications campaigns.
Prior to joining the City of Grand Island, Schubert spent nine years at KSNB-TV/Local4 News, serving as Assistant News Director, Evening News Anchor, and Executive Producer. During his tenure, he played a key leadership role in newsroom operations, staff development, content strategy, and community storytelling. His journalism career also included leadership positions at WOAY-TV and KHGI-TV/NTV News, giving him extensive experience connecting with audiences across multiple platforms.

Schubert added that he is excited to begin the next chapter of his career and help build upon the success of Central Nebraska's premier event destination.

A graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Schubert earned bachelor's degrees in Broadcasting and News-Editorial. Throughout his career, he has developed a reputation for effective communication, community engagement, strategic storytelling, and relationship building.
As Director of Sales and Marketing, Schubert will focus on expanding event bookings, enhancing brand awareness, developing marketing initiatives, strengthening community partnerships and supporting the continued growth of the BigIron Events Center and its mission to serve Central Nebraska.
