Cat Hang Tough; Fall Short Vs Kernels

After a near week off break, the St. Paul/Palmer Cats were back in action Monday against rival Central City/Centura. The Kernels coming into St. Paul with a 4-1 record while the Cats looked to spring over a .500 winning percentage knocking off one of Class C's better teams.

In the first inning, both teams tallied a run to make it 1-1. The Kernels popped a run in the second to take a 2-1 lead but the Cats tied things up at two runs apiece in the bottom half of the third inning. 

The Kernels popped in four runs in the top of the fourth to spring ahead 6-2, the Cats not to be outdone cut the deficit to one with three runs in the bottom of the 5th.

Central City/Centura showed why they're one of the better teams in Class C as they scored the games final five runs with one in the sixth and four in the seventh enroute to a 11-5 win over St. Paul/Palmer

Central City/Centura improves to 5-1 on the year with the win scoring 11 runs on 13 hits giving up three errors while St. Paul/Palmer drops to 4-5 scoring five runs on nine hits giving up one error.

The Cats will be back at GCA Field Thursday vs Wayne.
