CC-C Finishes Strong to Eliminate Aurora

Aurora owned a 2-1 lead over top seed Central City-Centura after 3.5 innings, but couldn't make it hold up. The Kernels erupted for three runs in the fourth and eight in the fifth for a 12-2 five inning win in the C-3 District semifinals. 

Aurora (5-17) took the lead in the fourth. Jack Carstensen, Wyatt Pollett and Sawyer Kiner singled. One run scored on an error. Micah Shannon produced a sacrifice fly. 

Central City came right back in the bottom of the inning. . Luke Vakiner homered. Quinn Jensen knocked a two-out two-run single to give the Kernels (16-5) the lead for good.

Winning pitcher Parker Zikmund went 3-3. Jensen, Conner Erickson, and Colbyn Peters had two hits each.

Aurora Coach Kevin Asher wrapped up the season on 97.3 the Wolf.
