CCC Enrollment Continues Upward Trend

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. – Central Community College has announced its total college-wide enrollment for the fall 2025 semester is 6,841, comprised of 2,214 on-campus and 4,627 distance learning students. Total enrollment grew by nearly 300 students or approximately 4.4 percent from a year ago, marking the third consecutive year of student population growth. Enrollment, especially for part-time students, will continue to grow throughout the fall semester due to short-term training and a second round of eight-week classes.
Total college-wide enrollment is comprised of students enrolled online and through CCC’s campuses in Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings as well as centers in Holdrege, Kearney, Lexington and Ord and educational hubs in Albion and Red Cloud. CCC also maintains early college programming with students in over 85 Nebraska high schools.
“I remain pleased with the positive response from students and parents to the excellent value and quality of our community college courses and programs in meeting the needs of both transfer and career-focused students,” said CCC President Dr. Matt Gotschall.
Because of local workforce demand, health, career and technical sciences, business and academic transfer courses and programs are all seeing more student interest.
CCC administrators say the news comes upon a successful completion of the 2024-25 academic year that also experienced positive enrollment growth and high number of CCC graduates earning certificates, diplomas and degrees. They added that graduates overwhelmingly decide to continue their education or obtain employment within the 25-county, central Nebraska service area.
