GRAND ISLAND, Neb. – Central Community College President Dr. Matt Gotschall is the recipient of the Impact Award from the Education Administration (EDAD) program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The Impact Award is presented annually to recognize the impact a distinguished EDAD alum has had in their field, discipline, community or organization. According to the EDAD, “The award highlights the impact of EDAD alums who take risks, push boundaries and advocate to make their organizations, disciplines, and the world a better place for all.”

A 2003 EDAD graduate, Gotschall is recognized for championing student success through initiatives in recruitment, retention, early college programs and workforce-aligned curriculum. Under his leadership, CCC consistently ranks No. 1 among Nebraska community colleges in credential attainment.

“It is humbling to be recognized by peers who have accomplished so much and created impacts throughout their lifetimes,” Gotschall said. “Through this online program I was prepared to return to Nebraska to support students, faculty and communities in my home state. I have made lifelong friends, peers and mentors, and I continue to know as a graduate from EDAD I will have a solid background in leadership and student success.”

Gotschall and two other EDAD award winners were honored at a ceremony at UNL in October. Gotschall was joined at the ceremony by his wife, Michele, and their five daughters.
