CCC to Give Out Narcan Boxes for Save a Life Day

On Sept. 25, all 50 states will be hosting free naloxone events for Save a Life Day for the first time.
CCC will take part as an extension of the Narcan initiative it has had in place since April 2022.
Naloxone/Narcan hard case kits are located next to automated external defibrillators and in high-traffic areas at all CCC locations. Ziplock bags containing the same materials are available to students and located in all food and hygiene pantries, counseling offices, veterans and military resource centers and student residence halls at Columbus and Hastings. In the past three years, more than 300 Ziplock kits distributed to students.
Since the Narcan initiative began at CCC, more than 200 employees have completed training on Opioid and Fentanyl addiction and how to administer Naloxone/Narcan. At the completion of the training, they each received a hard case containing two doses of Naloxone/Narcan, antiseptic towelettes, latex gloves, CPR mask with one way value and an instructional pamphlet detailing the five steps to save a life.
