Creighton Baseball Downed at Miami, 11-1
Coral Gables, Fla. -- Creighton Baseball suffered an 11-1 loss at Miami in eight innings on Saturday, March 21. The setback moved Creighton to 9-10 on the season, while Miami climbed to 17-6.
Junior Connor Capece got the Bluejays out to a 1-0 edge in the top of the second with his first home run of the season. Miami answered with a pair off starter Ian Koosman in the second and tacked on single runs in the third and fifth frames.
Miami continued to push its lead with two runs in the sixth, one in the seventh and four in the eighth to close the contest.
Koosman took the loss (0-2), allowing four runs on six hits in four innings. Miami starter Rob Evans earned the win (5-1), allowing one run on three hits in 6.1 frames.
The Bluejays and Hurricanes complete the three game series on Sunday, with first pitch set for 12:00 pm (CT).
