Creighton Baseball Drops 4-3 Contest to Georgetown
Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton Baseball dropped a 4-3 decision to Georgetown on Friday, May 8. The loss moved the Bluejays to 27-20 on the season and 11-5 in BIG EAST action. The Hoyas, meanwhile, climbed to 25-25 overall and 6-10 in conference contests.
Trailing 1-0 in the third, the Bluejays pulled even with a solo shot from Isaac Wachsmann to deep left field. It was Wachsmann's 10th home run of the season.
Georgetown answered with three runs in the fourth, getting a two-run double from A.J. Soloman.
Creighton chipped away with a run in the fourth via an RBI single by Nick Venteicher and a run in the eighth on an RBI double from Nate McHugh. The Bluejays, however, stranded four runners in the final two frames.
Georgetown starter Spencer Seid picked up win (6-5), allowing two runs on five hits in six innings. Closer Luke Jackman earned his seventh save of the season, allowing one run on three hits in two innings.
Creighton's Shea Wendt took the loss (2-1), allowing four runs on eight hits in 3.1 innings.
The Bluejays and Hoyas continue their series on Saturday, with first pitch set for 2:00 p.m.
