Creighton Baseball Drops Second Game at UConn 11-2
Storrs, Conn. -- After the Bluejays took the first game of the series on Friday night, Creighton Baseball fell 11-2 on Friday as UConn evened the series. The Bluejays and Huskies will play the rubber game of the series between the 2025 BIG EAST Regular Season Co-Champions on Saturday, April 4 with a 9:05 am (CT) start time.
The loss evened Creighton's record at 14-14 overall and 1-1 in BIG EAST action, while UConn moved to 16-16 overall and 3-2 in conference contests.
The Bluejays opened the game quickly with a solo blast from Teddy Deters in the top of the first. Connecticut answer with a four-run third inning, getting doubles from Gabriel Tirado and Rob Rispoli followed by a hit batter, a walk to load the bases. An RBI single from Tyler Minick and a pair of sacrifice flies push the Huskies out to a 4-1 edge.
Creighton pulled closer in the sixth on a leadoff single from Rocco Gump as well as a two-out RBI triple from Nate McHugh.
The Huskies plated seven runs over the final three frames to create the 11-2 final.
Connecticut starter Cayden Suchy earned the win (2-1), tossing seven innings of two-run baseball. Creighton starter Jack Pineau took the loss (3-1), allowing four runs on four hits and four walks in 4.2 frames.
