Creighton Man Sentenced to More Than 20 Years for Drug and Gun Charges For Crimes in Central and Western Nebraska.

Department-of-Justice

United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods announced that Samuel Rosberg, 25, of Creighton, Nebraska, was sentenced on October 29, 2026, in federal court in Lincoln, Nebraska, for one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and one count of use/carry/possess of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. United States District Judge Susan M. Bazis sentenced Rosberg to a total of 248 months’ imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. After Rosberg’s release from prison, he will begin a 5-year term of supervised release.

Rosberg, along with co-defendants Drake Baller and others, was part of a conspiracy that distributed a variety of controlled substances in Nebraska and across the country.  Rosberg and his co-defendants are responsible for distributing and possessing with intent to distribute at least 71 grams of methamphetamine actual, at least one kilogram of methamphetamine mixture, at least five kilograms of cocaine, pounds of marijuana and THC products, and psilocybin mushrooms.

During the life of the conspiracy, Rosberg made trips outside of Nebraska to make purchases and then traveled throughout Nebraska to supply his customers.  Baller joined him on some of these trips.  Rosberg provided Baller with methamphetamine, cocaine, and THC products to sell. In March 2025, a law enforcement monitored two controlled buys from Baller in Kearney.

On June 3, 2025, a search warrant was executed and served on Rosberg’s home.  During the search, law enforcement found and seized more than 20 firearms, to include revolvers, pistols, shotguns, rifles, firearm accessories, and ammunition.

Co-defendant Drake Baller pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and one count of use/carry/possess of a firearm or firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.  He is currently scheduled for sentencing on December 3, 2026, before United States District Judge Susan M. Bazis.

“Unfortunately, too often drug dealers protect their illegal trade with illegal firearms.  Here, nearly more than 20 firearms were possessed by a dangerous drug dealer,” said United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods. “This is a commendable outcome by the TRIDENT and CODE Task Forces to get the drugs, guns, and a drug trafficker out of the community.”

This case was investigated by the TRIDENT and CODE Task Forces which are made up of law enforcement agencies throughout a 22-county area in west-central/southwest Nebraska and includes the North Platte Police Department, Lexington Police Department, Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, Ogallala Police Department, Nebraska State Patrol, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
