Dementia Care Training for Certification-Aug. 11

GRAND ISLAND-CHI Health St. Francis, in collaboration with Edgewood Memory Care-Grand Island, will host a one-day seminar, “Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care.” Led by Debbie Schaaf, executive director of Edgewood, the in-person training is scheduled from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, in Conference Room 2/3 at the hospital.
The seminar is designed as a foundational course for frontline staff, clergy and other medical professionals who work with geriatric patients and are interested in obtaining a Certified Dementia Practitioner certification. The National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioner training aims to equip caregivers with advanced skills to enhance the care and improve the quality of life for dementia patients.
