Dinkelman Commits To NW Missouri State Baseball
(Grand Island, NE) - Wednesday night Northwest senior Sam Dinkelman made it official on "X" that he would be headed to Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, MO to play baseball for the Bearcats. Dinkelman has played shortstop and pitched for Grand Island Senior High in the spring and also Grand Island Home Federal during the summer American Legion season. Dinkelman is a player who bats left-handed and throws right-handed.
This past spring season Dinkelman played in 24 games for the Islanders batting .297 with 22 hits, 11 RBIs, 5 doubles, and 1 triple. In the 2024 American Legion summer season Dinkelman played in 43 games for Grand Island Home Federal. In 124 at-bats he had an average of .323 with 40 hits, 24 RBIs, 31 singles, 7 doubles, 1 triple, and 1 home run. He also walks 37 times. Seeing some pitching time this summer, Dinkelman tossed 381 pitches on 26 2/3 innings of work ending the season with a 6-0 record giving up 14 hits and 5 runs.
Dinkelman also plays basketball for Northwest during the winter season.
