Donation to GIRMC Foundation supports healthcare and community growth

Grand Island, NE (June 10, 2026) – The Grand Island Regional Medical Center (GIRMC) Foundation received a generous $750,000 gift from an anonymous donor group on May 28,
2026.
 
Drew Waterman, Chief Executive Officer of Grand Island Regional Medical Center, expressed profound gratitude for the vision and generosity of the donors, recognizing their shared commitment to advancing healthcare and supporting the continued growth of Prairie Commons.
 
“Grand Island Regional Medical Center is fortunate to be part of a community filled with individuals and partners who are deeply committed to growth, expansion and the future of healthcare in Central Nebraska,” said Waterman. “Our community leaders understand the importance of attracting healthcare specialists to our region to ensure local patients have greater access to high-quality care close to home.”
 
At the donor’s request, the funds will be allocated to capital improvements on the campus, which enhance accessibility, strengthen collaboration, and support the continued development of healthcare services in the region.
