Drug Enforcement Administration To Participate in National Night Out

Drug Enforcement Administration

OMAHA, Nebraska – Tonight, members of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Omaha Division will join with law enforcement agencies and community groups across the country in support of National Night Out, an annual event created to strengthen partnerships between police and their communities. DEA Omaha Division agents and staff will participate in events in Urbandale, Iowa; St. Paul, Minnesota; LaVista, Nebraska and Harrisburg, South Dakota.

“National Night Out provides us with an opportunity to talk with and get to know better the members of the community in which we live and serve,” DEA Omaha Division Acting Special Agent in Charge Rafael Mattei said. “It’s important that we have conversations, enabling us to raise awareness to the drug threats hitting our streets while also allowing communities an opportunity to ask questions and express concerns.”

Every year, DEA looks forward to participating in National Night Out events to meet community members and bring awareness to the synthetic drug crisis. DEA is committed to removing poison, like fentanyl and methamphetamine, from our streets; saving American lives; and protecting the neighborhoods that make each of our communities unique.
