Fightin' Cranes extend winning streak to eight

On a day in which the feels-like temperature reached 115, the Grand Island Fightin' Cranes stayed hot, winning their eighth straight, 5-4 over Salina on Sunday. 

Anderson Schirm and Broxton Barrientos had RBI doubles in the first. Sam Dinkelman smashed a two run homer in the second as Grand Island took a 5-0 lead.

Schirm went 3-4 with two doubles an RBI and a run scored. Dinkelman finished 2-3 with two RBI and two runs scored as the Fightin' Cranes completed a four game sweep of the Sliders.

Orin Radford went six hittings to pick up the win. Zach Mader earned his third save.

The two teams played seven-inning games on both Saturday and Sunday to limit heat exposure.
