Fritsche To Step Away As Northwest AD At End Of School Year

(Grand Island, NE) - Northwest Public Schools is seeking a new activities director/assistant principal. A resignation from Matt Fritsche effective at the end of the 2024-2025 school year was accepted at Monday night's school board meeting. Fritsche will be taking a similar role with Gretna Public Schools serving as the Activities Director at Gretna East High School. 

Fritsche was hired in May of 2020 after Mike Sorensen left Northwest for Chase County.  He served as a women's basketball coach at Hillsdale College in Michigan. Before Hillsdale Fritsche had pit stops as a head women's basketball coach at Midland University, assistant women's coach at Creighton University, and head girls basketball coach at Bellevue West winning three Class A state titles in 2007, 2009, and 2010 along with a runner up finish in 2011.
