Garringer’s art on display at Good Samaritan

KEARNEY— The Walkway Gallery at CHI Health Good Samaritan is hosting a new exhibit by Kearney artist Daniel Garringer. The display, which features colored pencil drawings of rural surroundings, will run through March 2026.

Garringer began creating the series of small original drawings, each measuring 2.5” by 2.5”, during the Covid-19 shutdown. His intention was to unite people, even from diverse backgrounds, through shared subject matter.

“The idea was to create small works that captured slices of the rural surroundings. As viewers would scan over the various drawings, they often saw subject matter they related to and at times were certain they knew the location,” says Garringer. “The desire to make these connections for viewers with the surroundings they related to was a driving force in continuing to create these works.”Visit www.danielgarringer.com for purchase information.

The gallery at Good Samaritan has provided a respite to those walking the hospital’s halls since 2008.

Upon graduation he immediately began teaching in the public school systems. In addition, he earned a Masters in Art Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
