GI City Council Highlights

The Grand Island City Council met on Tuesday.
*Council celebrated Sgt. Mike Nelson's 25 years of service to the Grand Island Police Department
* Library Director Celine Swan delivered the 2023-24 Annual Library Report
*Council discussed and approved (7-1 vote) Agenda Item 7-E, which is approving a contract for lobbyist services in relation to the city's Good Life District
* Also within the Consent Agenda, the Council approved the contract for the City's strategic planning unanimously
*Council listened to a presentation on the 2025 Comprehensive Development Plan and approved it with an 8-0 vote
*Council also unanimously approved a letter of support for Essential Air Service to the Department of Transportation, which is to continue American Airlines service out of the Central Nebraska Regional Airport
