Offense: Possession of Stolen Firearm
Victim: Incident #: L25042901
Offender: Marcos Medina Castaneda
Date and Time of Incident: 4/30/25 @ 11:29
Location of Incident: 224 E 4th St
Brief Narrative: On 04/30/2025, a grey Infiniti QX was observed driving in the area of 5th and Vine. The odor of marijuana emitted from the area. Consensual contact was made with the driver, who admitted to smoking and possessing marijuana. A traffic stop was conducted at 224 E 4th Street. The driver was identified by his Nebraska Driver's license as Marcos Medina Castaneda. Marcos would be asked to step out of the vehicle, he would refuse. Marcos rolled his window up 2/3 of the way and would lock his doors. Marcos would be given multiple commands to exit the vehicle, he refused. Officers advised Marcos that chemical agents would be used, Marcos eventually complied. While searching the vehicle a loaded handgun was located between the driver seat and center console, under a jacket. A records check for the serial number, revealed the handgun was stolen. Marcos did not advise officers that he had a firearm in the vehicle. Marcos admitted to smoking marijuana prior to the traffic stop. During SFST's Marcos showed indicators of impairment. Marcos provided a passing PBT sample. A DRE was requested and after additional testing was preformed, the DRE advised Marcos was impaired by a drug and is unable to operate a motor vehicle safely. Marcos was carrying a concealed handgun while under the influence of drugs. Marcos was arrested for DUI Drugs (1st), Possession of Stolen Firearm, Carrying A Concealed & Fail to Submit, Carrying A Concealed Handgun Under Influence, Possession of Marijuana less 1 oz and Obstruct Police. 

Offense: Child Abuse
Victim: 10 yr old male Incident #: L25042951
Offender: Emilio Deleon
Date and Time of Incident: 4/30/25 @ 20:50
Location of Incident: 318 S Clark
Brief Narrative: On 04/30/25, Officers responded to 318 S Clark; Wasmer Elementary in Grand Island Nebraska. Officers spoke to the reporting party on scene who advised an older male slapped a juvenile male with an open hand, causing him to fall to the ground. Officers then contacted a seven-year-old juvenile male who advised he was slapped in the face by an older male. Officers observed the juvenile male having redness and bruising on his left cheek. Later, Officers spoke to another juvenile involved in the altercation who stated his older brother, Emilio Deleon, slapped the victim in the head. Officers then spoke to Emilio who admitted to hitting the victim. Emilio was arrested for Commit Child Abuse Intentional/No Injury.

Brief Narrative: A Juvenile Female reported a sexual assault. The investigation is ongoing.

Offense: Terroristic Threats
Victim: 15 yr old male Incident #: L25042916
Date and Time of Incident: 4/30/25 @ 12:25
Location of Incident: 2124 Lafayette
Brief Narrative: Reporting party advised a student had reported being threatened by another student while in class. Victim student sent an email claiming Offender threatened to shoot them and fight them. Student victims and witnesses were contacted separately, and all stated the Offender made a claim involving having a gun and/or shooting the Victims. Offender was contacted, searched, and notified of the allegations. Offender was given school discipline by school admin per GIPS policy. This is an active investigation.

Location of Incident: W 3rd St & N Eddy St
Brief Narrative: On W 3rd St. and N Eddy St., a white Chevrolet Camaro with a red stripe on the hood traveled at a high rate of speed. As Officers initiated their emergency overhead lights the vehicle exceeded at a high rate of speed failing to stop eastbound on W 3rd St. The vehicle then drove on the wrong side of the road and fled from Officers.
