GICC Football Kicks Off The Season Friday Night

(Grand Island, NE) - The GICC football team will be on a mission to make the Class C2 state playoffs this year after just missing the field a season ag,o going 6-3. Losses to Malcolm and to end the year to Boone Central and St Paul put the Crusaders just outside the 16 teams for the playoffs. 

GICC will have a slug load of returners for Head Coach Jeff Ashby, led by returning quarterback Grayson Sack, who threw for 24 touchdowns on 2,046 yards. Sack also had 73 carries for 623 yards and 9 touchdowns rushing. 

Also back for GICC are key returners: Graham Stava, Conner Haney, Thomas Schneider, Will Maser, Jack Alberts, Brandon Cloud, Braylon Wolfe, Owen Price, and Trey Renz. 

Crusaders will kick off the season on Friday, August 29th, hosting Hastings St Cecilia. Game two at Malcolm on Friday, September 5th, will have a kickoff at 5:00 pm.
