GICC Girls Down Broken Bow To Advance To State Semi's


(Lincoln, NE) - It took a little over two minutes into the game before GICC would score the first points of the game with an Anna Tibbets three-pointer, but from there it was the Crusaders the rest of the way on Thursday afternoon at the Bob Devaney Sports Center as the Crusaders would down Broken Bow 49-33. Early in the 2nd quarter Broken Bow would tie the game at 13 all but would never take the lead as the Crusaders would hit a bucket to make it 15-13 to take the lead for good. GICC would can seven three-pointers in the game. GICC would build a ten-point lead going into the halftime break 27-17. The Crusaders would outscore the Indians 10-9 in the third quarter and 12-7 in the fourth quarter. GICC would be led by Bryndal Moody with 19 and Maggie Herbek with 16 points. Broken Bow's season comes to an end with a record of 19-5. GICC is now 24-2 on the season and now advances to the state semi-finals vs Sidney on Friday, March 1st at 10:45 am. In the other two quarter-final games Thursday, Lincoln Christian would down North Bend Central 51-39. Bridgeport defeated Minden 65-57. Lincoln Christian vs Bridgeport will play at Pinnacle Bank Arena at 9:00 am.
