GICC Girls Down Wood River, 63-40
(Grand Island, NE) - The GICC Girls basketball team downed Wood River on Tuesday night at Crusader Gym 63-40. The Crusader girls relied on the three-point ball throughout the night as the Crusaders hit 12 three-pointers in the game. That is not new to the GICC girl's game as they broke the single-game record with 14 three-pointers vs Doniphan Trumbull on Saturday, Jan. 11th.
Anna Tibbetts led the charge for GICC scoring, with 20 points and six three-pointers. Maggie Herbek followed with 16 points and four three-pointers. Fellow senior Bryndal Moody had 11 points. Crusader girls have won two in a row and now have a record of 8-6. GICC will next be in action on Saturday, January 25th at Adams Central. The girls' game will be at 1:30 pm with the boy's game to follow at 3:00 pm. Both games will air live on KRGI 1430/105.5 & krgi.com.
Wood River drops to 4-11 on the season. The next action for the Eagles will be Thursday, January 23rd vs Shelton and the 24th at Central City.
