GIPL Launches Museum Pass Program for Local Families

Grand Island Public Library

Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Public Library is expanding access to educational and cultural experiences through its Museum Pass Program, allowing library patrons to check out passes to several local attractions at no cost.

The program gives families an opportunity to visit participating museums while encouraging lifelong learning and exploration throughout the community. Library patrons in good standing may check out one museum pass per family during a seven-day loan period. An adult must place a hold on the pass, and the library will notify patrons when it becomes available. Once notified, patrons will have seven days to pick up the pass.

The Grand Island Public Library currently offers three museum passes:

-Stuhr Museum — A group pass that provides admission for all occupants arriving in one vehicle. Passholders will also receive a 10% discount on food and merchandise purchases during their visit
-Epic Discovery Center — A family pass providing admission for 2 adults and 2 kids
-Imagination City Children's Museum — A family pass providing admission for both parents and all children living in the same household

Museum passes are non-transferable and may not be duplicated. The pass must be used by the library patron who checked it out, and participating museums may request a photo ID and/or library card to verify admission eligibility. Misuse of a pass may result in suspension from the program.

Adults are required to accompany children and supervise them while visiting participating museums. All museum passes must be returned to the Grand Island Public Library at the end of the loan period. The Grand Island Public Library extends its appreciation to Stuhr Museum, Epic Discovery Center and Imagination City Children's Museum for partnering in this initiative. The Museum Pass Program is funded by the Grand Island Public Library Foundation.
