GIPR Launches "Forever Young" Active Aging Program

Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Parks & Recreation Department is introducing “Forever Young,” a comprehensive active aging wellness program designed to help older adults stay strong, confident and connected. Classes will begin on Tuesday, May 5 at the Grand Island Public Library.

The “Forever Young” program combines gentle physical exercise, balance and mobility training as well as cognitive activities aimed at supporting long-term health and independence. Developed using evidence-based practices, the program focuses on improving both physical and mental well-being.

Participants in the program will have the opportunity to enhance overall quality of life while building muscular strength and joint stability, improving balance and mobility, increasing flexibility and range of motion, and strengthening memory, focus and problem-solving skills. The program is designed for adults of all fitness levels, whether they are still working, newly retired or simply looking for ways to stay active and engaged. Each class features safe, accessible exercises that can help maintain independence, manage chronic conditions and support overall wellness.
