GISH Baseball Falls In Regular Season Finale

(Columbus, NE) - The Grand Island baseball team would fall in the regular season finale on Monday night by a final score of 4-3.
Grand Island would trail 2-1 after three innings. Both teams would then score two runs in the fourth and sixth innings, respectively. Grand Island would have 9 hits in the game with 2 errors. Columbus would get 11 hits and have no errors in the contest.
Grand Island would have the game-tying run on second base with Sam Dinkelman, but would be stranded there as Sam Schroeder would fly out to center field to end the game.
The Islanders are now 17-8 heading to the post-season and will await their destination for the district tournament to try and make their way to state.
