GISH Baseball Gets Road Win at Norfolk

(Norfolk, NE) - The Grand Island Senior High baseball team picked up its 6th win of the spring season on Thursday night, defeating Norfolk by a final score of 9-0.
Grand Island would get 9 runs on 9 hits and would not have an error. Nofolk would have 4 hits and 5 errors in the game. GI would get 2 runs in the 2nd, 1 in the 3rd, 3 runs in the 4th, and 3 more runs in the 5th inning.
The Islanders were led by Sam Schroeder with 3 hits and 1 RBI. Barrientos and Laureiro would each have 2 hits in the game. Miles Nelson and Brady Douglass would be the only two pitchers Grand Island would use in the game. Nelson would go 5 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 strikeouts. Douglas would pitch the last two innings, giving up 1 hit and would have 1 strikeout.
Grand Island is now 6-2 on the season. The Islanders will be back at Ryder Park on Friday, April 11th, hosting a triangular. GI will take on Papillion La Vista South at 2:00 pm. Lincoln Northeast will match up with Papillion La Vista South at 4:30 pm. Grand Island vs Lincoln Northeast will wrap up the day at 7:00 pm.
