GISH Baseball Snags Victory Over Pius X

(Lincoln, NE) - The Grand Island Senior High baseball team would defeat Pius X on Wednesday, 5-0.
Endry Laureiro would get GI on the board early in the top of the second with an RBI single. In the third inning, GI would get a double by Broxton Barrientos, followed by another double by Sam Schroeder, and then a sacrifice fly from Gabe Ruiz. That was all the Islanders would need as the game was called after the fourth inning due to weather.
Miles Nelson would get the win for GI on the bump, allowing six hits, striking out none, and giving up one walk on 68 pitches.
Grand Island would have nine hits in the game with no errors. Pius X would have six hits no errors.
The Islanders are now 12-5 on the season and plan to be in the Lincoln East Tournament this Friday and Saturday, April 25th & 26th.
