GISH Baseball To Host Triangular At Newly Remodeled Ryder Park Saturday
GRAND ISLAND (Neb.) — It’s official: The Islanders will take the field at Ryder Park tomorrow.
Grand Island Senior High is thrilled to announce that the Islanders Baseball Team will be hosting our Varsity Invitational tomorrow, Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 with the first pitch at 10:00 a.m. and a pregame ceremony at 9:50 a.m.
Hosting their annual varsity triangular tomorrow, the Islanders will welcome the teams from Gretna East as well as Elkhorn North.
The Grand Island community and all of Islander Nation are invited to enjoy a day of great baseball at the beautifully remodeled Ryder Park. The action kicks off tomorrow morning, and Senior High hopes to see the stands filled with purple and gold to cheer on the Islanders.
The schedule for the triangular at Ryder Park is as follows:
Elkhorn North vs GISH at 10:00 a.m.
Gretna East vs Elkhorn North after game one or at Noon
Gretna East vs GISH to follow game two
Making their grand return to Ryder Park before the end of the season is a source of great pride for the Islanders.
"While the opportunity came together at the last minute, we couldn't pass up the chance to take the field at our home park of Ryder.” Chris Ladwig, GISH Activities Director, said. “We're excited for the Islanders to take the field tomorrow in front of our home crowd at the newly renovated Ryder Park."
