Golf tournament helps Heartland United Way make an impact

CAIRO, NEBRASKA (June 1, 2026) Thirty-five teams, including 140 golfers, joined together for a simultaneous putt to kick off the 39th Annual Heartland United Way Golf Tournament.
The tournament, held June 1, at Centura Hills Golf Club, helps the Heartland United Way improve lives and create possibilities for individuals and families across Hall, Hamilton, Howard, and Merrick Counties.

Four teams took home honors.
First Flight

Brent Frerichs and Preston Sundermeier were the lucky raffle winners who drew winning poker chips.
Kasey Kulek won a prize for his golf pong skills and Kash Kalkowski got closest to the hole in the tournament’s opening putt.
