Golfers, Volunteers and Local Sponsors Shatter Fundraising Goal to Honor Local Veterans
GRAND ISLAND, NE – May 6, 2026 – SUNHEAT International is thrilled to announce that its 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament has concluded with a total donation of $10,133 for the Veterans Memorial Flag Replacement in Grand Island, Nebraska. The final total represents a significant jump from the initial goal of $6,000.
The event brought together a full field of 136 golfers and was made possible by the dedicated support of 17 volunteers and several SUNHEAT employees. Participants enjoyed a day on the green that featured more than just golf; the tournament included high-energy side games such as the new "Slap Shot Golf," cornhole, and golf pong, creating a festive atmosphere for a vital cause.
In addition to the competition, players were treated to a full hospitality experience, including snacks, drinks, dinner, a commemorative event t-shirt and a goodie bag filled with items from local supporters. The overwhelming participation helps ensure the Veterans Memorial Flag Replacement project will have the necessary resources to maintain a proud and respectful tribute to those who have served the country.
"The energy for last year was unmatched," said Josh Rookstool, President of SUNHEAT International. "From the 136 players who joined us to the 17 volunteers who kept everything running smoothly, along with our dedicated staff of course, it was an effort I'm very proud of.
