Good Samaritan Accepting Applications for Health Career Scholarships until April 1

KEARNEY - Applications are being accepted until April 1 for Good Samaritan Foundation’s annual Health Care Career Scholarship program. Recipients will be announced in May 2026.

Since 1989, the Foundation at CHI Health Good Samaritan has awarded $348,641 in scholarships to 492 students pursuing professional careers in health care. Upon graduation, many of these future nurses, respiratory therapists, paramedics and other professionals remain in Kearney providing health care to the community.

To be eligible, applicants must be accepted or currently enrolled in an accredited program of a recognized health care school–pre-professional programs do not qualify. Applicants must also be permanent residents or students attending schools within Good Samaritan’s 16-county service area including: Buffalo, Custer, Dawson, Franklin, Furnas, Hall, Harlan, Kearney, Lincoln, Phelps, Red Willow, Sherman, Valley; and Norton, Phillips and Smith counties in Kansas.

Applications must be submitted online by April 1 and include a resume, educational enrollment verification, official transcripts, letters of recommendation and a statement of professional goals.
