Good Samaritan Names Scholarship Recipients


Natalie Griffis (left), photographed with director Megan Uphoff (right), was recently awarded a Ron and Carol Cope Endowed Health Care Scholarship, Shirley Chavanu Endowed Nursing Scholarship and a Nursing Shared Governance Scholarship totalling $1,750. Griffis, a registered nurse in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, was one of 19 recipients of $19,750 in scholarships made possible by generous Foundation donors.

Since 1989, the Good Samaritan Health Career Scholarship Program has awarded $348,641 in scholarships to 492 future nurses, respiratory therapists, paramedics and other health professionals. The selection process began with an April 1 online registration deadline. Foundation board members served on the selection committee. 

Generous donors make the scholarship program possible.
